There are all first-hand strategies that I see my clients use for success. You’ll find that some of these are strategies you don’t hear a lot.

Which, I believe, makes them unique.

Many think Facebook can’t be successful for small businesses. I still think it can be really, really effective for small businesses. But, you have to think differently.

In this video, I’m going to show you how to think differently with your Facebook marketing strategy.

To understand Facebook, you have to look at Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook Post from January 2018. In the lengthy Post, he mentioned that Facebook will be moving more towards personal connections.

As someone involved with marketing small businesses, you have to do the best you can to make your involvement in Facebook about people.

Let’s get into the strategies:

1. Create & Optimize Events 1:43

Events are the best opportunity right now for the typical small business. You can reach many, many new potential customers with Events.

Here are a few tips with Events:
– Make a Video Cover 3:23
– Invite everyone who may be interested and encourage others to do the same 4:04

2. Make “People-Based” Posts 5:29

Live video gets wayy more engagement and activity on Facebook than pre-recorded videos.

Make it about people! Customers, you, employees. Show off an action in the business.

Just make sure to keep talking and/or make it about some action.
Studies show that someone will now give a piece of content 1.8 seconds before they decide to keep giving it their attention or not.

How long should the video be? However long you’re comfortable and can keep up the entertainment.

According to Live video experts, peak viewership is about 20 minutes. But, don’t let that scare you, even if you only want to go Live for a minute, go do it!

4. Participate in Groups 8:58

In addition to events, what else did Marky Z mention in his FB Post? Groups.

Facebook loves groups. They also help your business get seen in Facebook notifications as well.

When you participate in groups, remember to provide value, don’t just spam with your products or services.

One thing I recommend to immediately separate yourself from everyone else in a group, is to post video questions or answers. Remember you’re no just spamming this group but also providing value. A video will make you much more memorable in the group.

#1) Run Video Ads – You have to have a video when launching your ad. Video ads allow you develop out a stronger audience as you can build an audience for remarketing on how long people are watching your videos. When you combine both video and remarketing on top of that you will see a lift in conversion rates. Example : We ran a targeted video campaign for the Denver Broncos highlighting Fitness franchises at Sports Authority field. This campaign was designed to promote an upcoming event to sell fitness franchises. When we started building the audience and remarketing we saw an increase in event subscriptions that led to the sell of 12 franchises at 150K a piece.

#2) Target the Correct Audience – It is imperative that you understand the audience you are trying to target. Facebook has numerous options available to build a targeted audience. – Location, Demographics (age, gender, relationship status, education, work info, etc), Interests (literally anything, food, travel, sports, brands, style, topics, etc) and more. Keep in mind to layer the targeting as your narrow the audience as this will make your ads more relevant which is an important metric for understanding your relevancy score. Broncos Ex – Target 100 miles around Denver, age 25-45 fitness professionals, interested in fitness and franchises.

#3) Understand the type of campaign you want to build – For example, a brand campaign is different than a like campaign. Lead ads are different than just driving traffic to the site. While these option are all good you need to have a strategy in place to support the campaign type. For example:

-Brand Campaign – This ad creative is designed to drive brand awareness. If you run this campaign type it is important to measure the direct traffic response you get in analytics to better understand campaign performance

-Like Campaign – This ad creative is designed to increase the following on your Facebook page. If you run this type of creative you should pair it with a remarketing campaign so you can drive conversions to this audience

-Lead Ads – This is a powerful ad creative. Keep in mind to really leverage this creative it is important that the campaign leads tie into a CRM for marketing automation

-Traffic – This ad creative is designed to drive traffic to a landing page on your site. If you select this creative make sure to remarket to the traffic that lands on the landing page but didn’t convert. This will keep your brand top of mind with the consumer.

#4) Continually design new creative – Ad rotation and design is important to stay top of mind. As you reach maximum reach on your audience create new designs and messaging to extend the life of the campaign. It is also important that your are tracking the conversions on all your audiences so that you can create a combination list so that all future ad creatives after conversion do not see the ad. This style of campaign build is designed to target new customers and acquisition efforts.

1. Think about the marketing strategy on YouTube

If you want your videos to be watched, create value! Ask yourself three questions:
1. What videos is your audience interested in?
2. What videos would they watch without them being forced on them like in it?
3. What value can you add to your videos?

There are usually three types of value that we can add to our videos.
– Learning: teach your audience something
– Entertainment
– Emotion: make them feel something.
Make sure that you add at least one of these values to each of your videos.

2. Set up your YouTube channel

There are two types of YouTube channels:
1. Regular YouTube channels
2. Brand channels.

Make sure you set up a brand channel otherwise you won’t have the feature to share access to your channel with your employees and with other people working on the channel.
There are a couple of design elements that every channel should have. That’s your profile picture, custom thumbnails, and other design elements in videos. One important thing about these: make them consistent.
Last but not least, there’s the intro video that you use for channel branding. In video editing, apart from showing your logo with some music, the most important part about these intros is to make them short. A general rule of thumb is to make them less than seven seconds long.

3. Get your first subscribers

Getting first subscribers is usually one of the biggest challenges brands face on YouTube.
And especially if you’re a big brand, it can look very unprofessional if you just have very few subscribers. So what can you do?

3.1. Leverage your existing social media.
So if you have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, newsletter, or blog, try to send your existing audience to your YouTube channel.

3.2. Cooperate with other channels.
Leverage one of the two types of organic traffic that we have on YouTube.
– Suggested traffic: on the home page next to other videos.
– Search: when people search for something on YouTube.
You almost always need to combine these two traffic sources.

Your visibility in search can be improved through SEO (Search engine optimization). You need to define a keyword that you want to rank for.
